Sean was born in a one-horse coastal town called Vredenburg in the Western Cape. For foreigners, it's probably easier to say: Cape Town. His family relocated to Kimberley, where he matriculated from Kimberley Boys' High School.
After being accepted to study towards an MBChB at the University of Stellenbosch School of Medicine - and actually attending a few classes - he made an often-considered-crazy about-face. In a twenty-four hour period (probably just enough to drive his parents batty), he deregistered from Medicine, hopped a bus that took him a few hundred kilometers to a province he'd only ever heard of before, and registered to study Journalism at Rhodes University in Grahamstown.
In 2003, he graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism and, putting his broadcast experience to good use, joined the professional arena of television production in his new home, Johannesburg.
He has been nominated for several awards, including the SAB Environmental Journalist of the Year Award. One show he has had the pleasure of working as producer on has won several South African Film and Television Awards.
In 2009, Sean decided to pursue his dream of one day becoming the author of a cult horror novel, living off the royalties and movie-licencing deals.
This is yet to happen.
In the meantime, though, he has had work published in "Demonic Tome", "House of Horror", "Fried Fiction" and "Blood Moon Rising".
He still produces programmes for the SABC and lives with his fiancee - Estee Steinmann - and four megalomaniacal cats. He and Estee are expecting their first born, Morgan James, early May 2011.
